BeBop Dizzy Gillespie
$200.00
Dizzy Gillespie was an American jazz trumpeter, composer, and bandleader who was one of the seminal figures of the bebop movement. He taught himself the trumpet and trombone. Gillespie’s penchant for clowning and capriciousness earned him the nickname Dizzy. In the late 1930s and early ’40s, Gillespie played in a number of bands, including those led by Ella Fitzgerald, and Duke Ellington.
“Music Legends” is a series of paintings. The process starts with a 33LP vinyl record, which is melted, stretched and molded to compliment the specific artist. The record is then painted to reflect the energy and feeling of that particular artist. The record is mounted on a 15” by 15” panel which is painted to compliment the record.
